How Showcase IDX uses video feedback for recruiting

I recently had the pleasure of delivering the ROI of Nice presentation for Scott Lockhart and his team at Showcase IDX.

A week later, they published the following video to their YouTube channel and on LinkedIn. We don’t take credit, of course, they’ve built a “nice” company already, but felt it would be beneficial to learn new leadership skills from our presentation.

This is a perfect example of how a business can recognize and feature their people while promoting their culture to future job candidates and to clients as well. This video is an excellent exercise of giving a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make the company so successful.

The short film features employees candidly answering a set of questions. The results of this video make me want to apply to work at Showcase IDX! How about you?

Did we follow through on the expectations we set?

Everyone really is friendly and kind.

Familiar, friendly, and easy.

Expectations were set in the interview and turned out to be 100% accurate.

Reviewing their maternity leave policy and improving it.

What stands out to you about our culture?

What makes you excited about what we’re building?

Working on a product and teaching customers how to use it.

Solving problems in an innovative way.

What’s it like to work not just remotely but from anywhere?

A fully virtual company with no office means you can travel with no impact on your work since it’s all virtual.

Able to work from anywhere.

What do you want our applicants to know?

Just do it and expect fun during the interview and in your role when you’re hired.

They walk the walk. The real deal. No backup plan or exit strategy is needed because it’s a wonderful place to work.

Your fast-growing technology company should use employee surveys

When was the last time you asked your people how you are doing?

You can experiment with open surveys, anonymous, and video answers like the one featured here. For more information on receiving feedback (a core part of the Nice Method) read this article about how to get employee feedback.
